My name is Yura Gothard and I am a Senior at Evangel Christian School. I am originally from Ukraine. I came to the USA in 2014 when I was adopted out of an orphanage by my parents Scott and Tanya Gothard. In Ukraine I played soccer but when arriving in the USA I feel in love with American football. I started playing in 2015 at Jemison High School. I enjoy the game and work to give my best to my coaches, my team and my school. I am a kicker, linebacker and wide receiver. I attended the OJ Howard and Trent Richardson camps this year in efforts to approve my performance. Outside of football I enjoy taking things apart and repairing them so the last two years I have attended Lecroy Tech Center. This year I was named shop foreman and I have been offered an internship with our county. I also will begin a welding class next semester. I am involved in our community and church. My dad is a pastor in our community and I serve regularly. If given the opportunity I would love to continue playing this game I love. I think from my life experiences I know what it means to keep fighting, keep trying , keep praying and never give up to obtain your dreams and goals. I am willing to put in the hard work. Thank you!
