Personal Statement
My name is Max Johnson and I am a Xavier High School class of 2017 recruit. My current GPA is a 3.78 out of 4.0. I am 6'3" and weigh 240 pounds. I have been playing sports since the age of four and football since I was five years old. I've grown to love the game not only from an individual standpoint, but also from the team aspect. I truly enjoy helping my teammates succeed and making them better football players. Their success is just as important as mine because the scout team makes the starters better. All eleven players on the field have to be able to do their jobs in order for a team to succeed.
As I look past high school graduation, I know that I would like to continue my career as an athlete, and more specifically as a football player. It is important that the college I choose to go to has a strong sense of what it means to be part of a team. It is also important to me that I find a school that fits my desire to get the best college education possible, so when my football career comes to an end I am prepared to succeed in this world. I have always been a good student, and I pride myself on being able to be involved in athletics and other activities while keeping my grades up. In addition to football, I play basketball and am on the varsity show choir team for my high school. I understand that to be good, you need to put in the work. I love playing games on Friday nights, but also appreciate and enjoy the work I put in with my teammates all year round.
If I have the opportunity to play football in college, I will work hard and make the most out of my experience, both on and off the field. I am excited to find the right school, coach and team to help me realize my full potential as a student athlete.
