Personal Statement
February 12, 2013
Dear Coach,
Thank you for reviewing my recruiting profile. I hope your last season was a good one and that your 2013 recruiting efforts were a success!
I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me.
I am a Sophomore at Cary-Grove High School in Cary, IL This past season I was a starting offensive lineman for our Varsity football team. I played the OT position. I’m proud to say our team finished with a record of 13-1 with our only loss coming in the IL 6A State Championship game. It was a great experience and we are working hard as a team to make it to State again this year.
Personally, I had a good year, I started all 14 games, I received All-Conference Honors and also was a First-Team All-Area selection. I’m currently playing basketball and will start track in the spring while continuing to lift weights, condition and run agility drills.
My Dad, was a football player at the University of Iowa. He had a great career, he was co-MVP of the 1990 Hawkeye team, he was a All Big-Ten Defensive Lineman, he also played in the 1991 Rose Bowl. After college he was a undrafted free agent for the Buffalo Bills in 1991. He didn't make it through the year as a Bill but I'm still very proud of him and he has taught me so much. My Dad has his own business now and still helps coach at the high school.
I would really like to play football in college. I'm going to keep working hard in school, on the field and in the weight room to accomplish this goal. I'm going to make sure I keep getting good grades and become a strong leader through my words and my actions.
Please consider me as a student/athlete at your school.
Good Luck in the upcoming season.
Trevor
