Personal Statement
I started playing football at West End Middle School, Nashville, TN. I have a passion for football. Fortunately, I have the size to help me to be a strong team member. I am currently 17 years old, stand at 6’4” and weigh 262 pounds.
My freshman and sophomore year (2017 & 2018) I played at Hillsboro High School (5A region, 6 district), Nashville TN. Both years my team won the regionals. I played DT and RT. During my Freshman year I was awarded Coaches Award for good conduct, work ethic, and willingness to learn. Coach Fitzgerald selected me to receive the award because I work hard and have a drive to learn and improve. He also mentioned I led the team prayer before every game. I was the first freshman in 5 years to be receive the award. While I lived in Nashville, I was privileged to train with our neighbor, Brad Bars (NY Giants). We focused on feet and hand placement.
Last year my family relocated to Michigan for my mom’s work. I joined Portage Northern High School (Division 2). I played DT DE RG LG RT LT. I was flexible and willing to learn a brand-new offense at multiple positions. Being the new person last year, I did not have many opportunities to play. Our team did win the regionals. After football season, I joined the wrestling team so that I could get stronger, faster and be prepared for the next football season. In my first-year wrestling, I got a pair of silver medals. During this time, not only did I work as a wrestler, I trained my mind as a football player, to reinforce my greatest attribute, my brain. Not only did I study film of past seasons, I studied both college and NFL film, the farthest dated was my icon Dick Butkus’ 1965 season. I am determined to improve myself in every aspect of my game, be it on offense or defense. This year I will start in RG/LG. Due to covid-19 we have an abbreviated season in the state of Michigan. This means six games as well as playoffs
