Personal Statement

I started playing basketball when I was 12 years old. I played football up to that point but fell in love with basketball once playing in a Rec. League. My immediate goal is to play at the collegiate level. I am very tenacious, and an aggressive defensive player, I have strong ball handling skills, I am a student of the game (I ask a lot of questions) good hands, and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of.

Off the court, I study hard and maintain a respectable GPA. I attend church regularly and and love spending time with my family.

I would like to attend a college where I can grow academically in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. I welcome all opportunities to hopefully find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a well-rounded man and a great basketball player and make my Mom and Dad proud.

He is very good with the ball in his hands not only as a decision-maker but he demonstrates great change of direction quickness with his crossover and has a nice array of hesitation moves. The combined force of his speed and strength allows him to get wherever he wants with the dribble as he can drive at will while using his power to outmuscle opposing guards while possessing enough quickness and shiftiness to slice past bigger defenders. He shows great body control as he negotiates his way through traffic. He plays through contact nicely, often initiating contact to create angles or create separation for the jumper. Jaden is extremely efficient with his touches as a spot-up shooter, in drive and dish situations and in transition. He has very good shot mechanics, good arc and nice lift. A very smooth shooter who can score in bunches. Jaden has a quick release and even shoots contested shots at a good percentage. Knocks down shots from all levels and is very good off the dribble especially in mid-range areas. On the defensive end, his athleticism and lateral quickness allow him to defend either guard position effectively. He plays hard and competes on both ends of the floor showing a great deal of defensive versatility. Jaden is one of the most impressive players I’ve seen in the freshman class both skill and talent-wise and physically as well. He should be an impact presence immediately!
