I first picked up a basketball when I was three years old, which sparked a love of the sport that has continuously grown to today. The opportunity to continue to play basketball at the collegiate level is a dream of mine. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to work everyday with a group of people who share my love and devotion to basketball, growing and sharing experiences with them, and eventually building a successful and winning culture. The chance to do that is something I would never take for granted.
I have high basketball IQ and knowledge of the game, strong driving ability, good court vision, and strong physical defense. I am a team leader that is constantly encouraging and empowering my teammates to improve and stay confident. I have had a different varsity coach each year of my high school career, as well as a new AAU Coach each year. This has allowed me to become very quick in learning new offensive and defensive systems, in addition to exposing to a variety of different systems. Each of my coaches would reciprocate the fact that I am very coachable, attentive, and reliable.
In terms of my work ethic, I am extremely consistent and hard-working. I am constantly playing organized basketball year round; school ball, AAU, summer school ball, more AAU, fall leagues, and offseason team workouts. There is not a month of the year that I am not working on my game and playing against competition. Amongst all of that, I attend a separate strength and conditioning program that requires you to attend a workout at least 3 times a week. This program is called Vargo Trained, and I have been going there every week since August of 2019. I also work with a basketball trainer that runs workouts with varsity athletes from all around Southwest Ohio. I work in a variety of different training environments and know how to handle different coaching styles.
In school, I am at the top of my class. I am well on the path to Valedictorian as I have maintained the max GPA my school offers. I am involved with most of the extracurriculars my school has to offer, attending a meeting everyday. I have leadership positions in all of them, particularly being the Class President and president of my school's National Honor Society. I am often asked to assist the teacher in helping students understand material, and I'm also a student aide for two classes.
I want to attend a college where I can grow and push myself on and off the court. I want to join a team in which I can work to help build a lasting and winning culture. I am open to all options to ultimately find the right college at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to be able to lead, compete, work hard, and leave a legacy.
