My name is Sam Casey and I am eager to learn about playing college golf.
I have loved and played competitive soccer for a majority of my life but over the summer of 2023, my passion for golf caused me to make bold decision and switch to high school golf as a junior.
I worked at Arrowhead Country Club of the Rockies in Edwards, Colorado and played every day of the summer of 2023, sometimes 36 holes.
I had a very successful first competitive season in the Colorado High Cchool 3A division. I shot a 93 in my first tournament, but did not shoot over 78 in the rest of the season. All courses I had never played before. I qualified as an individual for Vail Christian High School, after tying for 5th in the region. I came in 27th in the state tournament at Raindance National in Windsor Colorado.. which is marketed as the "longest course in North America". In the post season, my handicap has dropped significantly and I even shot a 69 at my home golf courses: Eagle Ranch Golf Course, and Vail Golf Course.
I plan to play in tournaments this winter to build my competitive resume.
My academics, my passion for golf, my work ethic, and my natural talent make me a perfect candidate for college golf.
