I started playing golf for entertainment in the summer of 2020. I instantly feel in love with it and found a new hobby I was passionate about. Golf became my new outlet and as soon as I knew it was putting my baseball glove to the side to make time for my new favorite sport. I have lived on the Golf course ever since that summer, learning as much as I could to improve my game evetime I was on the course. It wasn't just a sport to me it, was something I could do competitively or to share with family and friends to create memories I will cherish forever.
Every year I have encouraged myself to set goals, continue to learn, and grow as a golfer. I'm now inspired to play at the collegiate level. I know that playing at that level takes a very special kind of athlete. They have to possess the skills to play at a high level with a diligent work ethic on and off the course. They need to be leaders and role models who can apply all these attributes into the classroom as well. I'll continue to work everyday to grow these characteristic in myself because there are no limits to achieving my personal goals.
I have learned from the short time I've been playing at a competitive level that I have a high golf IQ. I'm a golfer that will always brings a positive energy to the course. I love elevating my team during competitions and making sure everyone plays at their best potential but also has fun while doing so. If I ever see someone struggling I'm always the first one to offer up advice and positive reinforcement. I'm a golfer that believes in cheering on the competitor as well. Whenever I see a good shot regardless of if were competing against each other or not, I will say something positive about it. I think with all my skills, ability to be a team player, and positive sportsmanship combined that makes me an extremely coachable player and will take me far.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I volunteer at local church, hockey, and golf camps. I also like to spent some of my extra time at the American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House and even the Hope Lodge making meals for cancer patients. One thing that I also love to do is to help others on the course. I've gained a lot of joy by helping the younger kids pick up tricks and even helped teach a few people older than me a thing or two on the greens. I find it extremely rewarding when I can help someone whether it be small or large it still feels gratifying.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the golf course. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
