I'm a sophomore at East Providence High School in Rhode Island and I play in the second position on the varsity golf team. I was number 3 freshman in the state in the 2023 season. I have only been playing for four years. I spend almost all of my day, everyday, practicing, training, or finding ways to improve myself mentally and physically. It has been my dream and my goal from the day I started playing to make golf my future by playing in college and one day playing on a tour. I always strive for perfection, I take nothing less than that and do everything I can to achieve that, even though golf in my opinion is probably the hardest sport to do this with. Coming from Rhode Island there is bias against us because we only have the late spring and summer months of good weather. I think this gives me even more of an edge compared to others because I have spent countless hours of practice on the course in conditions such as very strong winds, rain, freezing cold, snow as well as very hot temperatures in the summer. In my eyes this is what makes a well rounded golfer, someone who's willing to put in the work and effort even if not the best of the conditions. I am also in all honors classes and one AP class and am straight A student. Sometimes it's hard to find a good balance with golf and academics when I receive a lot of work, but I am always sure to give my self more that sufficient time to improve and make myself better.
