Mikhail Savin '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, coaches. My name is Mikhail Savin. I’m from Luhansk, Ukraine. I speak 4 languages (Ukrainian, Russian, Belarus, and English) and am currently learning French.  In 2021, I moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota (US). That season (2021-2022), I played for Sioux Falls Power 15O AAA. That season, we went to the USA National Tournament and we also went to the USHL tournament in Dallas, TX. After the end of that season, I completed grade 9 in Sioux Falls, SD and in 2022, I moved to Toronto, Ontario (CA). In the 2022-2023 season, I was playing for Vaughan Rangers U17 AA, and I played for the Varsity school hockey team. I had one of the best seasons of my life. I improved well. In that season, in Vaughan Rangers U17 AA, I was awarded for the most dedicated hockey player on the team, and I also got awarded to the Varsity school hockey team for the most improved hockey player. This school year (2022-2023), due to the different school systems in Canada, I was supposed to go to grade 11 and I had to skip my sophomore year (grade 10). Still, I’m very motivated to graduate from High school and I will take summer school and Saturday school to get it all completed. During this school year, I took a Ukrainian Saturday School, I was doing my best at the school and I got 90% (A) in the Ukrainian University course. I was also volunteering during that year. In total, I volunteered 46 hours. After graduation from Saturday School, I was awarded Excellence in History, in memory of Elizabeth Gregorovich (Ukrainian historian). In the season 2023-2024, I’m excited to move to the next level. I will play for Meaford Knights (ON). It’s a Junior Tier II  GMHL league.
I’m hoping to improve more during that season. I want to get used to the faster speed and more powerful shots because it’s a good preparation for college hockey. By reading my biography, you can see that I'm a hard worker everywhere at school, on the ice and in life. I’m a leader on the ice and in life. I’m a very dedicated player who wants to develop his skills. I’m fighting for every puck, creating opportunities, and defending my team. I want to play college hockey to develop my hockey IQ and get better at hockey, in education and in life. I’m a player with a huge attitude and a huge passion. I never give up and I’m playing from the first second to the last second. 

I will get everything I want, and I have no barriers.
