Personal Statement

My name is Ewan McDevitt. I am 16, living in Brookfield, WI. I am a hardworking, athletic, highly coachable goaltender and have been playing AAA hockey with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals in the Tier I Elite League since the age of 10.

I was recently called up by the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL and I am excited to be given the opportunity to play and develop at that level. I have also recently signed a tender for the MN Magicians of the NAHL for the 2020 season.

I have also played Elite spring hockey for the Bauer Selects and CCM Selects. I play multiple sports, having played football for 5 seasons, and summer baseball as pitcher and first baseman.

I was born in Boston, MA. Like many of my friends there, I started skating as early as possible and began to play hockey when I was 6 years old. I loved to skate and enjoyed being out on the frozen lake near my home. The thrill and speed of the game has always excited me and I knew early on that I would love the opportunity to play hockey at the highest level possible. I started as a defenseman, but as soon as I put on goalie gear and tried that position, I was hooked on stopping the puck. When I step on the ice, I am focused and want to win.

I would love to play Junior and then eventually College Hockey helping me pursue my ultimate dream of playing professionally.

I know that I have to work hard, both on and off the ice, and in the classroom. I try each school year to improve my grades and push myself. I have a love for Math and Engineering, designing and building things, and would love to pursue an engineering degree.

Highlights of my hockey career so far include:

Being called up to play for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL

Signing a tender for the MN Magicians of the NAHL for 2020

Select 16 US National Development Camp 2019

Select 15 US National Development Camp 2018

Central District Development Camp 2017

Being selected to, "play up," as a 15 year old for the U16 MKE Jr Ads

Captain of Bantam Major MKE Jr Ads - I was very honored to be voted into a leadership role by my team members and coaches. I try to set the highest goals for myself and try to lead by example and by supporting my teammates. Previously Alternate Captain of Bantam Minor MKE Jr Ads

"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time"

I will be a big part of your organization when given that opportunity. I look forward to hearing more about your program and how I will fit in.
