My name is Henry Hashemi. I am currently a high school junior. I was first introduced to lacrosse by an older boy in my neighborhood. He showed me some stick handling skills and would throw the ball around with me after school. I soon became infatuated with the sport. I was so infatuated that I gave up my number one sport of football in order to play travel lacrosse full time. I have always been an aggressive athlete no matter what the sport. Since fourth grade I have poured that energy and hard work into my lacrosse game.
Through lacrosse I have learned that I am not only very competitive but I am committed to improving my game and working with my teammates to improve the whole team. I am a hard worker, very focused and I don't give up. I give 120% during practice and during the game. Probably the biggest reason I continue to strive to be the best is that as a younger player I was always the smallest kid on the team. However, my coaches would comment that I did not play small... I played big. I was never afraid of players bigger than me or teams that were better than mine. Now that I have grown, I continue to play big, no matter what the competition is like.
My current goal is to play competitive college lacrosse. I strongly feel that I would be an asset and fully committed to any team. Academically I want to pursue a degree in business. After college I look forward to continuing my love for lacrosse as a coach for other up and coming players.
