Jorge Lopez '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jorge Lopez, I go by George and I'm a graduate of 2025 at John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham, Alabama. I play Striker as my primary position but played winger and attacking mid for high school. I am from Birmingham, Alabama. I currently play for Alabama FC on the '07 ECRL team and play varsity soccer for John Carroll. My high school team just won the state title for the 5A class and was a big help for my team. I wear number 8 for high school and number 3 for club.
Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.0 GPA. I excel in various subjects including math, specifically algebra and geometry. I will continue in college studying in the field of business.

I am a hardworking, versatile, trusted and impactful player on my club and highschool teams. I'm energetic and I work hard to be in the right place at the right time. I have high character, integrity, and a strong academic work ethic. I aim to be in a Christ-centered environment, studying the Word of God, while pursuing a professional degree. I fell in love with the sport of soccer when I was 3 and am focused on continuing to play at the next level. I am grateful to have parents and coaches who have always supported me and pushed me to be the best version of myself that I can be on and off the field.
Soccer is important to me for many reasons. I love playing the game, but soccer is also just part of who I am. I watch it with my family, we play together, and I support my younger sister in her development. It is a passion I have and will always love. The sport has helped me with many life lessons. These lessons have made me a better student. It has taught me how to be a better teammate and strengthen my relationships off the field as well. Soccer is also my escape from all my problems in this life and hard situations. Soccer has gotten me through it with peace. Soccer gives me motivation to keep going and pushing through a lot of things in life.


Through college athletics, I desire to play at a high level, compete every day, make a significant difference on and off the field, continue in my development, and earn a college degree in business.
