John Illig '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Illig, but I go by the name Jack. I played varsity high school soccer in my freshman year with Phoenixville Area High School. I spent the fall of my sophomore year in Berlin, Germany, playing for the U-17 Hertha Berlin Integrated Academy team. I am currently playing for the U-16 Philadelphia Union Academy, and I attend ASU Prep Global Academy.

My primary position is midfield. My strengths are being technical with the ball at my feet and making quality decisions. I like to defend, get forward, and take players one-on-one. I am also known for creating timely through passes and being calm in tight spaces.

I am looking for a school that offers athletic scholarships, but I am open to all levels of college soccer. I am undecided about a major now, but I will most likely be interested in business. I am looking for a school that sees me as someone who can contribute to their program early in my collegiate career.

Outside of soccer, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I grew up in Switzerland for four and a half years, so I enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures.
