Zigashane Ruburura '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zigashane Ruburura, and I dream of playing the beautiful soccer game at the next level. At phoenix college Preparatory Academy, I take High school and college classes, which will enable me to graduate with my associate degree and a high school diploma. I play four positions(DM, CM, RM, and RB), with Defensive midfielder being my primary position. I bring different attributes to the team, mainly because I am a physical and technical player, which helps me keep the midfield under control. My other significant attribute is my pace, which helps when the team plays against teams that play counter-attacking football. This ability enables me to fall back faster and back up the group or cover my other teammates that may be slower than the attacker. I take all my games seriously as if they are finals, no matter who the opponent is, because I believe that to be a winner, one must always give no less than 100% effort. I am a very flexible player who can adapt to any team style of play. I do everything possible to make the team's dreams and my own possible on the field. I always push myself to play until the last whistle and try to find different ways I can contribute to the team during that time, whether mentally motivating the team or giving cover where the team may need it. Academically I am very focused and always give my best because, as a student-athlete, this comes first. I am honored to say that in the second semester of my sophomore year, I was selected as one of the few people to make it on the principal list for the second year in a row. Making the principal list means that I was among the few at my school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and I had 3.9.
