My name is Kalaʻiākea Duncan, and I am now a senior at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus. I aim to play collegiate soccer as a dependable center defensive midfielder at a dependable school. I can contribute to any team as an exemplary and visionary playmaker who thinks multiple steps ahead during the match. I've played the game of soccer since I was 5 years old, and I have never once lost my passion for it. I've instead been continuing to grow in love and determination for it, doing whatever it takes to get better and better each day. I am one of the captains of my team who excels in fulfilling the role of his position, acting as a technical, tactical, and composed communicator, attack initiator, and lockdown defender in the midfield. I have a knack for never being satisfied, striving to get better and better to live up to my ever-changing expectations each day. I look to support and strengthen all the people around me, whether they be on the field, at home, or at school. As a captain of my team, I excel in movement off and on the ball, looking to put myself into positions where either I or my teammates can receive necessary but crucial passes. On defense, I carefully examine the opposing team's movements and defend accordingly, delaying their attack to assist my team and capitalizing on any mistakes they might make. My principal strengths as a soccer player include my vision, ball control, efficient communication, ability to read a play/player, ball distribution, and ability to disguise my passes/intentions.
