My name is Marco Filous and I am a soccer player at Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault, Minnesota. I am 17 years old. I was born April 1st, 2002 in Bluffton, South Carolina. I started playing soccer when I was five years old. I began my career as a soccer player at a local club in Bluffton called, LCSA Strikers. I play attacking midfield(8), defensive midfield(6), or outside back( 2 or 3)I then decided to play for South Carolina United FC in Columbia, South Carolina. I went to play there because I wanted more. I wanted a new challenge and I wanted to improve as a player. At South Carolina United FC we went to the National Championship, which was in Frisco, Texas, and we played in National League. There is National League was where I got scouted to go to Shattuck because of my technical ability, work ethic, and smart decision-making. I also played ODP for a couple of years, in which I traveled to Argentina to play. I have made the state and my region three team every year I played. When we went to Casa Grande, Arizona we played the other three regions. In Arizona I made the best 11 from all four regions. My first year at Shattuck I was captain of the team. I had a horrible injury that will always stick with me my whole entire life. At the beginning of my spring season of my sophomore year, I tore my ACl. It was the worst injury I have ever had. I had to go through many challenges in life that I thought I would never overcome. I was out for 9 months. I didn't start playing after I was cleared around 10 months. It was the hardest of year of my life. But I ready to play now. I am ready to play. I have been ready for a couple of months now. My team, Shattuck St. Mary's, was number 1 in the nation. We made it into the 2018-2019 DA playoffs in San Diego, California. Unfortunately we got out in the quarter finals but we had a great run. I have been at Shattuck for three years. I am currently a junior. I have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA thought Shattuck. I am currently sitting at a 3.8 GPA. Both of my parents are from the Czech Republic. I am bilingual.
