Personal Statement
What makes me a good candidate for your school is that I am a hard worker with a good attitude and work ethic. Soccer is fun, but it is hard work to be the best you can be. I give 110% whether my team is ahead, behind or even at practice. I am a team player and I listen to both my coach and teammates. Part of how I have learned this lesson is that I am dyslexic. My learning difference has taught me that with hard work and knowing when to ask for help you can accomplish anything. My dream was to go to Jesuit for high school and that is where I am currently attending.
I am looking forward to have the opportunity to play soccer on a college level. I want to play at the highest level that I can for as long as I am able to play. I have played soccer competitively for the last 11 years of my life. I am very passionate about playing soccer. I have played for N TX ODP '98, 99 Club team, and at my high school, Jesuit College Prep.
On my club team, Dallas Texans I had the opportunity to play in the Gothia Cup in Sweden and Donosti Cup in Spain the summer of 2014. It was an incredible experience as I got to compete against players from other countries. We made the round of 16 in Gothia and Donosti. I scored against the Onsala BK who ended up winning the B16 World Cup. I was the only one to score against them in our bracket. I enjoyed meeting other players, experiencing new cultures, and making new friends. I will never forget this wonderful experience.
This summer's ODP camp my region coach wanted me to be in the regional III pool, but the other coach had already chosen a different player. I was co-captain of the ODP team this year. Being captain means more than a label, but keeping your team focused and positive on and off the field. It is a job that I enjoy, but take the position seriously. I have always been captain of my club teams till this year when I joined a new team D1 team that is currently ranked 3rd in N.TX and in the top 80 for the nation. At Jesuit, I have been a starter on both the Freshman and JV and was the only sophomore to get moved up to varsity for the playoffs. Also, I won the Ranger Heart award that my JV teammates voted on for me. This award means so much to me, as I have my teams respect as a hard worker, and as a leader for my team. Thank you for your time.
