Since a young age, I have tried a variety of sports: basketball, swimming, soccer, etc. But, when I first discovered volleyball in 7th grade, I loved it. From then on, I dreamt of playing volleyball in college. To work towards this dream, I attempt to excel both on the court and in the classroom, understanding the value I bring as a student-athlete, not just an athlete. I live in two separate worlds, one of homework and tests, and one of practice and games. In each world, I attempt to lead by example: co-founding the Asian Student Union at school or being the volleyball varsity team captain. Everyday, I come early to practice, hoping to get in a few touches so I'm warm for training, then afterwards I stay late to practice my serve. I believe my strong work ethic and time management skills have been forged as a result of my juggling these two worlds, allowing me to become a better student, player, teammate, leader, and overall person.
