Personal Statement
Tennis is what I love.
I started playing tennis in the 5th grade at Monmouth All Sports Camp. I instantly fell in love with the sport and maintained instruction in it for the rest of my years at Monmouth camp. I played for my high school in the spring of my Freshman year, and played number 3 JV by the end of that season. Through the next summer, fall, and early spring I put in many hours of work, specifically on my serve as well as my backhand. Through this development of these skills, and with some practice sessions with former Division 1 head coach of Western Illinois University tennis, Art Peterson, I obtained a spot on the varsity squad for my Sophomore year. At the conclusion of my Sophomore year, I was given the award of "Most Improved" by our head coach.
When it comes to a major, I have always been very interested in politics as well as business. I plan to major in Economics, Political Science, or Pre-Law. However, I would like to try to continue my education in Spanish, of which I am currently in my third year of instruction.
For a career, my dream would be to hold a seat in the United States House of Representatives. I have met with several representatives and senators in the past 6 months. I am active in a young Republicans group. I hope to be involved in the political process my entire life. The idea of being a part of the government for this nation excites and inspires me.
My sincerest thanks to you for viewing my profile, and any advice for areas of improvement that you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
