Personal Statement

I am a rising Senior from Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois. In the fall of 2020, I will compete on the Cross Country team for my fourth year and be Team Captain for my second consecutive year; in the spring, I intend to continue distance running for my third season on the Track & Field team. As a 2-year captain on the Cross Country team, I am aware that setting a good example for all of my teammates is very important, and I have learned how to be an effective leader. I focus on creating a strong, unified team where each member feels like a valuable part of the team: loving, serving, and caring for teammates are ways I show them my utmost respect. These three words seem simple, but when put to use well, are very powerful. I have learned that success is contagious and that by helping my teammates succeed, I will succeed with them: "Success is meant to be shared" (author John Gordon, The Carpenter).

I am an extremely hardworking, motivated, and determined student-athlete. I continuously seek ways to improve. I am never satisfied after a great race, and am never discouraged after a bad one. No matter the circumstances, I strive for doing my very best during each and every academic and athletic endeavor. In both the classroom and on the course, I am self-motivated, driven and extremely easy to coach or teach.  Even though perfection is not attainable, I work toward it constantly in a humble manner.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
