Personal Statement
I have a fantastic work effect and a high pain tolerance. I'm still just beginning in this sport and have much more to give. I have been through a few injuries, which made me a stronger runner physically and mentally. I've learned to be smarter with my training and discovered better ways to take care of my body. I had an awesome summer of training and it's showing in my senior cross country season. My season 3 mile average is 15:46 with a PR of 15:28. I finished 3rd place in the 5A Region II meet. This past year I have really learned so much about this sport. I'm always watching running and training videos. I'm also very coachable and willing to learn. I earned track MVP last season and was named captain for the upcoming cross country and track seasons.
I want to run under a 15:45 5K and finish in the top 10 at the State Cross Country meet. I also want to break the school's mile and 2 mile records by running under a 4:15 mile and under a 9:30 two mile. I want to compete at the State 5A meet. I want to earn a cross country and track and field scholarship to a college or university. I believe I am capable of accomplishing these goals.
