Nicolas Delgado '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicolas Delgado- Gonzalez, but everyone calls me Nico. I grew up in Mami and I was raised by hard working and caring parents and an athletic and supportive brother. I have learned that school comes first and the phrase Student- Athlete defines me and the person I want to become in the next chapter of my life: College.

My family believes in me and trusts that I can achieve my goals only if I work hard, put in all the effort, and have a positive mindset to do it. I am also fortunate to have the notable example of my brother, who achieved his goal of being a student-athlete: playing basketball and studying at MIT.

Today, I am building my own future by studying and working hard every day to be a better student, teammate, and good citizen.

It was until I entered high school that I discovered Volleyball and fell in love with this sport. It is clear that if work hard and smart, I have the possibility to compete to the highest level. Volleyball has taught me that regardless of the age and the situation, I can start from zero and be as competitive as I can be, if I practice hard, if I am disciplined, if I love what I do. Right there, I decided without delay that I wanted to put all my passion into this sport.

Today I am happy with the opportunity that volleyball has given me. Every time I am competing in a volleyball match, I feel happy, complete, and it gives me the energy to keep going and give my 100% effort. Nowadays, when I play Volleyball, I can see myself, chasing my dream like when I was young: playing to the highest level and I can see myself up there playing at the college level.

I found in volleyball a lifestyle that can guide me and give me many good things in my future and not only impact myself but impact the world and the people around me.
