Drew Barbee '21 Recruiting Profile

I am an Asian American setter residing in Fairfield, IL. I started playing volleyball competitively during the 2019-2020 club season. I manage the girl's high school team and love it. I fell in love with the sport while watching the USA national team play. Last year I played both club and tennis and realized that Volleyball is what I love. Where I live boy's volleyball isn't popular. The opportunities are small in my area and my club is an hour and a half away. During my downtime to stay with the team, I practice with the girl's team, set at home, and off the hitting wall at the tennis courts. My dream is to continue my volleyball career in college. Many sacrifices have been made for me to be able to even play. I am a hard worker, who will do anything to get better. I'm very coachable to different perspectives and viewpoints in the game are what help me progress.  I think I'd be a great addition to any team and school.
