Some collegiate goals of mine would include maintaining a strong GPA through studying and staying ahead of my work. I will also be searching for inspiration to narrow down my precise major selection. Another goal of mine would be getting physically stronger and becoming a better player. Currently, I train with a private trainer four days a week to develop my overall strength and my vertical.
I am a good candidate for any team because I will work hard, both on, and off the court. I will put in the work at practices/games and in my studies. I am different in character because I am a good listener and I am respectful to my coaches and teammates. I will pay close attention to detail; support my teammates and I’m open/welcoming to new people.
Athletically, I think I’m different because I started playing competitively when I was 10 years old which has led me to developing a pretty strong volleyball IQ e.g. court awareness, knowledge of the rules, positioning on the court, etc. I enjoy being a student of the game and learning from the guys at the next level. I also had a couple opportunities to exhibit leadership. The first time was when I played in the National 14u tournament in Columbus, OH as the oldest player on the team. I was the setter and able to give guidance to the younger, less experienced players. Also, I am the most experienced player on my High School team as a Sophomore and my coach leans on me to help guide the other players. My coaches tell me that my leadership style is mostly leading by example. Lastly, I currently have all A’s and B’s in school, have very good attendance, and stay out of trouble.
