In elementary school I tried soccer and basketball but realized I was only playing them for the team camaraderie. Then my Catholic elementary school decided to host a state wide boys volleyball tournament. I was hooked. Team camaraderie and a sport I loved. After trying out for a club team, Coach D offered a slightly overweight 12 year old a position on his 14U boys team with the understanding that I would have to earn my play time. Three years later, I made the USAV Oklahoma Regional 15U Allstars team. The Allstars tournament was awesome and convinced me that it was time to move to a more competitive level club team. I am looking forward to this years challenge of a new club, new team, new coaches, and the new position of outside hitter.
My freshman year I joined the powerlifting team and had a SBD total of around 500 pounds, this year without even competing yet my total is 825 pounds.
I am hoping to play collegiately at a program that will continue to push my athletic skills, and academically develop me. Upon graduation I hope to find a job that I enjoy and pays enough to continue to play the sport I love. Maybe, one day I can give a kid the chance that Coach D gave me.
