Personal Statement
Starting at a young age, I played basketball, baseball, and I swam. I continued with those sports through middle school. In 8th grade I started playing water polo and I really enjoyed the sport. It was much more fun and exciting to me than baseball or swimming. I like the fast paced game and the fact that it is a team sport. I have been playing with the Junglecats club team ever since and have played summer and winter leagues.
I have been playing varsity water polo at my high school for two years and would really like to continue playing after my senior year at the college level. I feel like I have a lot to offer with my height and wing span. I am able to make things happen with steals and I have a good sense of where to be in the water. While I feel I am a strong offensive and defensive player, I know I could be even better if I put on some more weight and increase my speed. Another reason I think I could be an asset to a college program is my ability to play different positions and my willingness to be developed in whatever position is needed.
I am undecided about my college major, but I know the importance of an education. I am hoping to get some scholarship money to enable me to play water polo and get a college degree.
