As a young child, I held the belief that everyone falls into a category-some people are meant to be athletes, some will excel in school, others are creative-minded artists, and various other divisions. I had many interests that crossed these lines, which often became a cause for confusion. How could I enjoy so many different things? I grew up to understand that while many people have interests in the same area, I could simultaneously compete in sports while enjoying the arts and thriving in school.
In high school, I've been able to embrace all of these passions. I compete in high level softball on my club team and push myself at every workout, practice, and game. In the classroom, I've maintained a 4.0 unweighted and 4.6 weighted GPA in all Honors and AP classes. My love for writing as a child has grown into a passion for journalism; I take a Broadcast Journalism class where I make a weekly news show, commentate on live sports games, and run the social media pages.
My ability to embrace diverse interests has shaped my personality as well as my leadership skills. Each of them has developed a sense of belonging for me, which is my priority in searching for a college. I aspire to compete at a high level while also receiving a competitive education at a school that provides the right 'fit' for me.
