Personal Statement
Many experiences have shaped the person I am today. I have an Chinese-American father and a Caucasian mother which lets my family celebrate many different traditions and holidays. I have two older siblings which makes me the youngest of 3 kids as well as an "only" child since they are adults now and working after attending college. I enjoy a well-rounded variety of interests spanning from Math and Science at school, as well as music (I play 4 instruments) and art (I have won the top prize in the area high school students art exhibition. I am also an 11-year member of the Girl Scouts of America, working on my Gold Award this year, the highest achievement a Girl Scout can earn. I have a keenly strong sense of volunteerism and an active in helping my school and my community with over 200 volunteer hours every year!
I have played softball competitively for 5 years, the last two with the Morgan's out of Grand Rapids, MI. I always seek to play on a team where I can grow and be challenged and contribute to the whole team. I am passionate about the game and I am fiercly loyal to my team. I do my best at practices and on the field in games. I especially like the camaraderie of my teams. My passion for the game is shared by volunteer coaching younger players in the local youth program in the summertime. I would like to pursue playing in college to play the game I love and am deeply committed to.
