Personal Statement
I have excelled in college and honors level courses at Bishop Guertin High School - a private preparatory school which has extremely high course and content levels compared to a public school where I hold a 3.4 GPA and 1930 SAT. I will be taking a post graduate year at Cushing Academy during the 2015-2016 school year which will allow me the opportunity to mature more physically, intellectually and academically.
I play for a highly sought after and competitive 18U travel team, the New England Diamond Gems U18 Gold. I am the starting catcher and when I am not behind the plate I play in the infield. Our team won the New Hampshire ASA Class A State Championship in 2013 and we ended with a record of 32-8-2. I ranked first on the team in Batting Average, OBP, SLG%, Runs Scored, and second in stolen bases. The qualities that make me stand out as a catcher are my defense, physicality, leadership, positive energy and knowledge of the game.
I consistently make the Honor Roll and I have the same strong work ethic in the classroom as I do on the field and in the weight room. I personally thrive on discipline, determination and drive in everything I do. I also enjoy giving back to my community by volunteering as a YMCA swim instructor, being a presenter for a learning disabilities awareness group, assistant coaching for the middle school softball team, and various softball clinics. I would like to combine my passion for helping people and love of sports to pursue a Physician Assistant degree at a four-year college or university.
