Personal Statement
Thank you for taking the time to open my profile. My name is Taryn Massey and I recently completed the 10th grade(2024) at Person High School in Roxboro, NC. I would like to pursue a career in medicine, and I am targeting class selection, where possible, to achieve this goal. I have played in multiple showcase tournaments with a wide variety of college coaches on the field, but I feel it is most important to choose a school based on career goals. To play softball would be that much better. I have played team sports since I was 5 years old and I stay active between softball (school and travel), volleyball (school), and enjoy extra time in the gym and cages. I have attended two annual, overnight summer camps at Florida State University, as well as multiple local camps and clinics. I also have regular hitting lessons in Durham, NC at Softball Rebellion with instructor, former professional baseball player, Luke Johnson, and also was fortunate to work with former Valparaiso pitcher, Kyle Wormington on throwing fundamentals, along with former professional player, Korey Behenna. I also work with William Bradley Sports Performance in Greensboro, NC for speed and agility training. My goal is to become a 5-tool player and the best teammate on and off the field. I finished up my sophomore year as an All Conference nominee ,batting .395 and was a part of my team going to the 4th round of the 3A states. I work hard on and off the field whether it’s practice, school, or my other sports and hobbies.
