Personal Statement
My goals as a 2013 graduate are very much focused on my future. It's important to me that I play softball for a competitive college team, while attending a school that has a reputable chemical engineering program. Competing in collegiate softball at a high level will only further develop a strong sense of team work and leadership skills, which I feel is of great importance for my future. While softball is very important to me, I plan on pursuing a career as a biochemical or chemical engineer. As a first generation college student I will have the opportunity to break a mold and set a new course. From a young age I knew I was capable of touching lives and accomplishing difficult feats others would shrink in the face of. Making contributions toward solving difficult national and international challenges in areas including health, energy, and the environment is where my professional life will be dedicated. I want the fulfilling satisfaction that I’ve made impacts that truly improved the lives of others. Fierce, high level athletic competition, coupled with a rigorous degree path will surely provide me the platform from which I can accomplish these goals.
