Personal Statement
My name is Rainah Smith and I attend Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco, CA. I am a 5'10" senior guard and will be graduating in 2018. I am left-handed, but I also have a strong right hand. For my freshman year, I played on Sacred Heart's undefeated 2014-2015 JV team. For my sophomore year, I played on the Varsity team and we became DIII State Champions. For my junior year, I continued playing on the Varsity team. During this summer 2017, I am playing AAU basketball with Cal Stars and am on the Nike Flight team. I am a hustle player who is aggressive on defense and can rebound well. I am fast and can get the ball up the court. I am a team player who is very coachable and determined. My style of play creates opportunities for success for my teammates as well as for myself.
Off the court, I am a strong student with a 3.97 GPA. I understand the importance to be a student first and I take pride in succeeding in the classroom. I've been recognized by my school for maintaining a high GPA while playing basketball. I'm looking to attend a college that will give me the opportunity to play the sport I love and provide the academic curriculum to prepare me for the rest of my life.
