Alliyah Thompson '24 Recruiting Profile

As a recent student-athlete who is just diving into the world of college recruitment, I am eager today to share a bit about my goals and aspirations for the collegiate level when it comes to my career, and basketball goals. At my age at 16, however, I am unsure of what career I am passionate about pursuing at the moment, however, I am most interested in a science, or business major. Athletically speaking, I have always been one to have the drive and motivation that allows me to overcome a role as a team leader. This quality that I feel I possess allows me to bring energy and positivity to a team, which overall makes the game of basketball more enjoyable, as well as, in my opinion, cause us as a team to perform better. Throughout the years as a basketball player who is involved in AAU and school basketball, I have been asked to play a variety of different roles on the basketball court whether is be using my height as a 6'1" post, or even playing a point guard. This wide range of opportunity I have been given has caused me to become a well-rounded player on the court, as well as off the court. However, as valued as I see the game of basketball, I have always been one to prioritize academics over athletics and at the end of the day I am looking for a college that supports that aspiration as well. My ambitious and hard-working drive enables me to to be a high performing athlete and student and so I hope to find a college that matches, and brings out that drive in me.
