Making the varsity team as a Sophomore is one of my greatest accomplishments so far in my basketball career. However, I believe I grew the most at the end of the season when I wasn’t given the opportunity to play in our first and final tournament game. That experience has taught me the values of teamwork, leadership, commitment, and hard work. The experience also led me to realize how much more work I need to put in to become a student-athlete and point-guard at the college level.
When I was given the opportunity to go to a high education private school that also had an amazing basketball program I leaped at the chance. The school has helped me prepare for life at the college level in more ways than one. It has taught me the meaning of friendship, time management, and how to make decisions about my life moving forward. As a person I do the best I can to be a great teammate, player, and student. But, with being a player comes its challenges. You have to be coachable, a good listener, and trustworthy. I can’t wait to continue to grow and develop as I make my way to my junior and senior year of highschool.
