I have loved basketball as long as I can remember. My mom played Division 1 but she never forced it on me. I learned to love the game on my own at my own pace. I had a great junior season becoming stronger, more versatile offensively, and an even better defender. I am excited to be playing with the NEPA Elite program and working with Coach Macciocco. I am hopeful that the work I put in every off-season shows the college coaches that I am worthy to play at their level. I truly believe it will.
Besides playing the game I love, basketball has introduced me to the most amazing people. My teammates and coaches are like family to me and nothing is more important.
Aside from my basketball skills, once I get to know you, I will make you laugh. I have a quick wit, like to bust on my teammates, (and coaches) and can be the butt of the joke too.
Academically, I have really raised expectations of myself. I am focused on getting an academic scholarship if unable to secure an athletic one. I was just inducted into National Honor Society and I made Distinguished Honors the 1st and 2nd Quarters. My weighted GPA now stands at a 3.96. I have also committed myself to participating in additional clubs and activities where I am able to provide services to others, for example, this past October, our team were assistant "hosts" of a special needs dance for adults. I really feel like I am maturing and starting to find a plan for myself as my college decision approaches. I am still trying to figure out my major - I've gone from political science to math to criminology and psychology. I have so many interests. It's tough to narrow it down.
I truly believe I have what it takes to make it at the next level, academically and athletically. Unfortunately, I have chosen not to play for one of the name-brand travel teams, although I had the opportunity. Declining that opportunity, obviously makes it more challenging to be seen and to secure offers, but who doesn't like challenges? One of my mom's friends, who is a college coach, said if you're good, they'll find you. I believe I am good. I just need you to find me. I know if given the opportunity I will show the coaching staff I can be a leader, a supportive teammate, student in the gym and in the classroom. I'd appreciate you taking a look at my videos. I will be posting new ones as the season gets underway.
