*From her First Little League Softball and Girls Scout Leader - Jenn Rollins U Mary Washington Alumni Whether it was Girl Scouts or softball, Whitney was 110% with a smile. If she was in a Girl Scout meeting working on a badge, selling cookies or camping; she was smiling and happy to be there. I don't think I ever remember her having a disagreement with anyone or a harsh word for another girl in the troop. It didn't matter what I asked her to do to help, she did it cheerfully. Her personality on the softball field could be the polar opposite but in a good way. She was still happy; but she could be a terror and a fierce competitor. She wanted to win and she would work hard to make sure she did. She was never a poor sport though and she was supportive of her teammates and her coaches. I remember watching her on the basketball court too and that made a huge impression on me. As she ran down the court, she "leaned" into the run and the ball she was dribbling and I thought it was a good indicator of her attitude towards life. She "leans into" everything I've ever seen her do and I have no doubt she will embrace her future with enthusiasm. Whitney was one of the kids that made it easy to volunteer my time and I would be more than happy to be her reference any time!
