As a young athlete who has struggled with his own personal mental health, I am interested in exercise science and sports psychology because I want to help people achieve their goals physically and mentally. As well as helping young athletes like myself reach their potential. I started playing soccer when I was eight, all my values growing up such as discipline, hard work, and perseverance have come from soccer. Also it lets me express myself in a way nothing else has.
During the school year I organize my schedule so each day I have enough time to study as well as train. This past year I implemented strength and speed training to further my ability as an athlete. Over the past two seasons I have gone from a right winger to a right back to a defensive midfielder and finally a center back. Moving through all these positions has taught me the importance of every player on the field; as well as sharpening my defensive skills, making me a better overall player. Coaches have told me that my best attributes on the field are my tenacity, game IQ, and fearlessness. I look forward to working with a coach whose experience and judgement I trust. It is important for me as a player to respect a coach not only on the field but as a person off the field. The best coach I have worked with was one I didn't always agree with but who made me try things I’m was not comfortable with so that I can break through on training.
