Personal Statement
Everyone always asks me what I'm going to do after I graduate. I have not yet decided exactly what I want to do in the future so I plan to attend college outside of state studying my core subjects and playing golf. This will allow me time to figure out what I’m really passionate about and what I really want to pursue as a career. There are many things that interest me but it is only a matter of how far it will take me and if I find myself fully engaged in it.
My biggest strength is my motivation and strategic goal setting. This is what got me where I am now and what will take me where I’m going later. I set goals for myself all the time in order for me to achieve something. Big or small, I am always motivated to reach that goal and always find a way to work through different situations.
I always have goals each time I play or even just practice. When I set a goal I will play accordingly and apply what I learned before, such as a strategy or something my coach taught my in order to make the shot or obtain a certain score. I am very athletic and enjoy playing more than just golf. Soccer and paddling has allowed me to maintain good condition and strength which also benefit me for golf purposes. I find it satisfying to channel my energy into any form of exercise.
Golf has been a sport in my family for many generations and I remember when I first played as a little girl. Now I am older and more mature and see how important golf is to me. Before I started my freshman year in high school, I got back into golf and have been playing ever since. I love my golf team and deeply enjoyed growing with them over the years. We spend so much time together during golf season and I noticed that we've all learned different things from each other and not just our golf coach.
Growing up in Hawaii was truly a blessing but now it's time for me to experience more of what this world has to offer. This is why I would like to attend school in the mainland. I am interested to explore more than just this chain of islands and be educated in a new environment with a different atmosphere. I look forward to meeting new coaches, student athletes and becoming the best individual I can be.
