I first started golf when I was 4. I loved the game from early on in my life. I have competed in Drive Chip and Putt, Iowa Junior PGA, and more recently HJGA, Midwest Jurnior and the Iowa Amateur. I love competing, it keeps me practicing and has taught me how to set and achieve goals. My love for the game and competitiveness keeps me working hard on improving my swing, strength, and mental strategies. Hard work pays off in golf and life. Even though golf is an individual sport I really like the team aspect of high school golf that has taught me how to work with others on and off of the course. I am excited to play in college tournaments and learn more about the game of golf.
My school education and becoming a well-rounded person are also very important to me. I have a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale with taking advanced classes. I am a part of the National Honor Society, I give back to my community by volunteering and working towards a goal of 200 Silver Cord volunteer hours by the time I graduate. I am also on the Student Senate, participate as a Big Sister through Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and play volleyball for my high school. I also love art and participating in art shows. Being a well rounded person and getting a good education are crucial to me.
I am looking forward to the next step in my life. I am looking for a college that will give me a good education. I want to major in aviation and minor in business. I also want a college that will make me a better person on and off of the golf course. I am excited about meeting my teammates and learning from them as well as the coach. Competing at a college level excites me and I am looking forward to it.
