Personal Statement
Ever since I have been young, I have enjoyed going to the range and swinging a golf club with my Dad. In the past few years, however, I have really begun to focus on golf. More and more I have wanted to see how good I can truly become. Playing college golf wasn't ever something I debated in my head until my sophomore year, when I first made the varsity golf team at my school. Over the summer before that fall golf season I had decided to focus more on improving my game and had really started to care about my game, my scores, and my swing. Since then I have really focused on my game, receiving lessons and putting in hours at the range and on the course. I have been able to achieve many accomplishments in golf, including all conference honorable mention (sophomore year) all conference (junior year) and all area 2nd team (junior year), as well as place well in summer junior tournaments. Academically, I have interest in business, but hope to be able to incorporate the arts into my education. In college I hope to pursue a degree in either entrepreneurship or marketing with a minor in interior design. I am determined to play golf in college and I am grateful for every opportunity and school that is interested in me.
The main asset I will be able to bring to the team is consistency in play. I am a very consistent player, with my scores only fluctuating a few strokes throughout the year, so you always know what scores to expect and to count on from me. I also bring with me an attitude of leadership. For example, I have been elected team captain on both of my high school sports teams. Lastly, I am willing and looking forward to being coached and and further improving my golf game.
