I have been golfing for the majority of my life. I started when I was 6 because my entire family were golfers and my parents thought it would be good for me. I fell in love with the sport not only because of the competition but also because of the sportsmanship that came with that competitiveness. I love how unique the sport is and how everyone has their own style of playing. It brings people together and connects people in unexpected ways. When I was 12, I qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics in Temecula, California. This was what made me decide to play golf more competitively because I was able to meet girls from Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Japan. It opened up this entire new world that I fell in love with. When I was 15, I got a scholarship to go to a summer golf camp at IMG Academy, which was a big opportunity for me and helped me with my game during that time. I learned so much and was able to spend time with some amazing people that I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. This past summer, I got to travel more than I ever have for golf tournaments, and I got the opportunity to join the Pathways to Progression Program that was held in Ponte Veda Beach, Florida. This was an amazing experience as I got to meet other juniors, work with coaches at TPC Sawgrass, and play the course, which meant so much because of the history behind the course. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that golf has brought me and how it has shaped me as a person. I hope to take it to the collegiate level and see where golf takes me from there.
