Katherine Shine '24 Recruiting Profile

            I’ve always found myself drawn to varying forms of self-expression, which have grown and changed with me throughout time. Athletically, I’ve been golfing since I was 9. But even before that, I remember riding in golf carts and picking at my dad’s club covers, my favorite was one of a small fluffy dog on his driver. Golf has almost always been a part of my life, and I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to immerse myself in golf, growing myself physically and mentally through the game. I have competed in over 20 tournaments including junior PGA tournaments both locally and in other states, and I received the MVP award in my junior year. I also work as a caddy and bag ‘boy’, and I am the only woman holding these positions at the large Country Club I’m employed at. I find golf to be a mental escape, and it challenges me to focus on the goal at hand, while remaining mentally and physically fit.
