Hi, my name is Lisa Smith and I have been a competitive gymnast since I was 5 years old. This will be my 4th season as a specialist in level 10 gymnastics. I specialize in the balance beam and floor.
My college goal is obviously to compete gymnastics at a collegiate level. Outside of sports, I aspire to study architecture, which is something plan to make a living out of it. I love the thought of making something that will one day still be on this earth for many years to come.
I think what makes me a good candidate is that I am more competitive within myself rather than against others. I have been told that I tend to be the hype person and influencer both inside and outside of gymnastics. I always boost our teammates during practice and at meets. The coaches lean on me as a leader to help coach the younger classes along with assisting them with choreography for special events the club does outside of competitions.
I enjoy reaching out to new people and making them feel welcomed and not alone. It's also great to make new friends and contacts. I think being on a team with girls around my age is where I think my personality would shine the brightest. I'm also a hard worker in school, in the gym, and in church. Plus, I feel I am pretty good with prioritization; knowing what should take precedence first in my busy life.
Thanks,
Lisa Smith
