Personal Statement
I truly love playing lacrosse. I wish that I would have discovered it sooner. I have just completed my third season, second on varsity, and each year I have worked hard to improve my game. This year I was a starting midfielder scored 24 goals, compared to 7 last year, I picked up an average of 1.5 ground balls per game, averaged 2 caused turnovers per game, and averaged 3.5 draw controls per game. At the end of the season banquet it was announced that I was selected as a team captain for next season. The two personal goals I set for myself this season; score 3 times as many goals as last year and be named captain, I acheived. I have worked to establish left handed ball control and a left handed shot and I am happy to report that I scored several left handed goals this season.
This summer I will continue to develop my game playing for the Rochester Riptide. I am also going to focus on my speed, strength and agility. During tryouts this year I was unofficially clocked at 5.3 seconds in the 40 yard dash. I would like to get it to 5.0.
I love a challenge. This year I wanted to earn a lifeguard certification because I know it opens doors to really good summer jobs, but I hadn't had a swimming lesson since I was four and was never on a swim team. In the end I got certified now I'm working on finding the job.
I want to be a physical education teacher and girls lacrosse coach when I graduate from college. I'm looking for an opportunity to play lacrosse at a school with a coach that is going to push me to be the best lacrosse player I can be. My passion for lacrosse is pushing my skill set to catch up with my athleticism. The sky is the limit, but I still have a lot to learn. I want to score lots of goals, win many games and have a ton of fun doing it. I do need the school to have an education program that will prepare me to acheive my professional goals too.
Thank you for reading my personal statement and look forward to hearing from you.
