Riley Knapp '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Riley Knapp and I am a hard working student who would love the opportunity to play lacrosse in college while pursuing an education in the health care field. Assisting others and giving back to my community is a lifelong ambition of mine. 

Lacrosse has provided me with life lessons that have shaped who I am as a young adult; sportsmanship, leadership, determination and reflection. I have enjoyed playing lacrosse since I was about 5 years old. Since that time I have continued to work hard to develop my skills and have thrived in the team atmosphere that lacrosse provides. While my time on the lacrosse field is spent as a midfielder, I pride myself in developing an understanding of all positions. I have always been proud of the high expectations I set for myself as well as my team. I value the amount of learning that comes from watching others and being provided feedback from teammates and coaches. I believe these life lessons will make me both a strong college lacrosse player and a strong college student. 

I feel confident that I possess the traits that are necessary to achieve my athletic and academic goals. I am successful in the classroom, not because things come easily, but because I work hard to achieve my grades. I constantly do extra work outside of school, studying hard to remain an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. 

My speed, teamwork and dedication to improvement sets me apart on the field. These skills have provided me with the opportunity to be a starting midfielder and the second highest scorer on our Varsity team as a sophomore. These traits also gave me the opportunity to play with some of the best players in the state at the New York Regional Championships. One of the moments that I am most proud of during my lacrosse career was when I was selected to a small group of elite players who were chosen for the All Star Team at this event. 

I am looking forward to finding the school that meets both my academic and athletic needs. I appreciate you spending the time to get to know me better as I look for the right fit.
