Personal Statement
My name is Kimberly Buckholts and I live in Randolph, Vermont. I've played Lacrosse for just over six years and continue to improve each year. In the past three years, my primary position has been Goalie, although I've had experience with all positions on the field. In my junior year (2014), I made 174 saves and received the All State High Honor Award! I'm passionate about lacrosse and even though my school has a small program with a poor record, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my skills.
I enjoy the mental and physical challenges associated with being a lacrosse goalie. Tracking the ball, stepping to, and communicating with my defense are all skills I've developed. I am a strong leader and an effective communicator on and off the field. As a third degree black belt in Taekwondo, my training has taught me how to maintain a clear mind and how to take a hit. I've also learned how to acknowledge my mistakes, how to correct them, and how to persevere when I'm having a rough day. I want to continue playing Lacrosse in college and it is one of my goals to improve my save percentage to at least 70%.
In school, I am motivated, hardworking, and eager to learn. I focus on my academics and constantly challenge myself. I am a part of Student Council, The National Honor Society, and Rotary Interact. As I finish my high school career, I've determined that I would like to pursue Athletic Training and attend a small or medium sized college in New England.
