Personal Statement

Hi, I am Haley Baron. That is what you can call me, but rest assured I am more than just a name.  Growing up in my family of 5 and being the youngest child put a lot of influence on who I am today. Having my two siblings guiding me through every experience, teaching me and advising me, I took in the qualities both had to offer.  I became the competitive, loving, creative, caring person that my two siblings were.  But while their personalities were divided into me, love for sports had also been applied.

At 4 years old, I began playing the game I came to love so dearly today. I started playing AYSO recreational soccer, but my competitive, thrill seeking and fun loving spirit at the tender age of 6 needed to be handled. I quickly gathered all my 6 year old hopes and aspirations and left recreational soccer, running into club soccer, ready to tackle the challenges I knew would be ahead. Club was the type of competition that I imagined had arms out ready to take me in. I began playing club, finding a passion for protecting the goal. I imagined being a keeper as protecting my family and everything I loved, and I simply would not be "fine" with anyone getting through me to get to that net.  I knew that keeping people out would help my team, and I also found the love for helping others. The love for the protection of the net and helping my team that I have has brought me through getting 3rd place in State Cup, several won games and tournaments, league championships, a high school season of league where no goals were scored on me, amazing victories, but also lessons learned in losses and countless hours of training to exceed where I think I need to be.

My love and my passion for both helping others and soccer has continued. Through the hard work my devotion to soccer and my position put me through, I have become a high level goalkeeper.  I am proud to be the aggressive, hard working, eager, clever goalie I am today; the people I can thank most are my siblings for teaching me to be brave, follow my dreams and work as hard to get the results my passion calls for.

My dreams may be impossible for me to achieve in some's eyes, but I see my aspirations as the soccer ball I need to jump onto and get. I want to tackle and smother the ball of getting a scholarship and opportunity to play collegiate level soccer. And I also want to win and dive onto that ball of getting a high level education to become a Public Relations specialist like my passion for helping others wants so badly. I want to create visions for others, help them succeed.

After all, it's all about working for what you are truly passionate about. While I do work my hardest now, I make a vow to continue to work as hard as needed, and even harder, to be where I need and want to be.

Thank you for reading this, and looking at my profile!

Dreams don't work unless you do, and I am working as hard as possible to make my dreams work.
