Personal Statement
My Junior year of High School was filled with many exciting sports achievements. From winning the 2a State Champion title for football, to having my first save as a pitcher on Senior Night for baseball. This experience showed me the true meaning of the statement, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. Pulling together individual strengths, teamwork, commitment, and leadership resulted in achieving a goal which was predicted to be unattainable by sport analysts. I feel very fortunate to contribute to the whole as a student athlete at Steele Canyon High School.
I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. Sports have provided me with a platform for a healthy lifestyle. Through my volunteer exposure with Challenged Athletes Foundation, I have enjoyed supporting the potential of individuals despite their physically challenges. My goal is to continue to receive leadership experience and exposure as a college student athlete to enhance my foundation for my future goal of becoming a Physical Therapist or a Physician. As a two-sport academic scholar, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
