Hi my name is D'Amani Jaelene Dumeng and my childhood nickname that stuck is "DJ." I graduate in the year of 2020 and hope to immediately attend a 4 year college and get the opportunity to compete at the highest level. After trying different sports as a child, I decided to give softball a try when I was 7 and have been in love with the game ever since. Year after year I trained harder and became more and more determined to become the best player that I could be. At the age 10 I set my eyes on making it to the collegiate level with that I committed to the decision of not getting to live a normal teenager life, and to completely dedicate all of my time to achieving what became my number one goal. I am a very competitive individual and am willing to put in as much work as possible, not only on the field but in the classroom. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and have worked extremely hard to achieve it speaking as though school doesn't necessarily come easy for me. I have struggled with a few set backs in this sport, for example transferring into a slapper but I stayed positive throughout the entire process and now am so thankful that I made the switch. I am the type of player that shows up to the field with the biggest smile on my face, and leaves with a smile just as big eager to put in as much work as possible knowing that I'm one step closer to achieving my goal. I am a very happy and bright person and stay bubbly even when it comes to hardcore conditioning practice. I love making the most out of everyday and making people happy, whether I am motivating my team to push through the last of game of the day, spending the day at the beach or 4 hours of practice, or even 5 hours of studying for tests in my most challenging classes, the thought of my dream coming true is a burning ambition inside of me that keeps me driven towards success.
Thank You so much for taking the time to read my profile!
